Secure Wi-Fi encrypts everything your phone or laptop sends on café, hotel and airport Wi-Fi, so nobody on the same network can see or change it. Your DNSAFE protection comes with you.
It uses the free WireGuard app, so there’s nothing of ours to install.
In your DNSAFE account, open Secure Wi-Fi and add your phone, tablet or laptop.
Scan the QR code with the WireGuard app on a phone, or download the setup file on a computer.
Turn it on when you join public Wi-Fi, or leave it on all the time. It works on mobile data too.
Everything you’d want on a network you don’t trust.
Modern WireGuard encryption between your device and our server. The café, hotel or airport sees only scrambled data.
Scam, malware and ad blocking and your custom rules work just as they do at home, and a child’s device can follow your Kids settings.
Lookups can’t sneak past DNSAFE through a browser’s own secure-DNS setting or iCloud Private Relay while it’s on.
iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. Up to 5 devices per person.
Secure Wi-Fi lookups show in your Activity, labelled by device, alongside your home connections.
Invite staff by email. Each gets a one-time setup link, and your network’s policy applies wherever they work.
Up to 5 devices per person and 200 GB a month of fair use.
Secure Wi-Fi carries your traffic, so we keep as little as possible.
Each device’s name, its tunnel address, how much data it used this month and when it last connected. Lookups appear in your own Activity, like at home, and are deleted after your plan’s history period.
The contents of your traffic, the addresses you connect to, or a record of your connections. Your device’s private key is shown to you once and never stored.
Our Secure Wi-Fi servers are in Germany, run by Hetzner. Websites see the server’s address, not yours.
Yes. Secure Wi-Fi is a WireGuard VPN, built to keep you safe on networks you don’t trust, with your DNSAFE filtering on. It isn’t meant for changing your location or getting around content rules.
While it’s on, websites see our server in Germany. Most sites work normally; a few streaming or banking sites may show a different region or ask you to confirm it’s you. Switch Secure Wi-Fi off for those if you need to.
WireGuard is very light. Day-to-day browsing, email and video calls feel the same; downloads depend on your distance from the server.
No. At home your Wi-Fi is already protected by DNSAFE. Secure Wi-Fi is for when you’re away: public Wi-Fi, hotels and mobile data.
Each Home account, and each person on a business plan, can use 200 GB a month, which is far more than most people use. If you reach it, Secure Wi-Fi pauses until the 1st; your normal DNSAFE protection carries on.
Yes, it’s a switch in the WireGuard app. When they’re home, your Wi-Fi’s DNSAFE protection still applies.
Set up in a minute. Switch on at the café.
